For our first event of 2025 we presented a talk by the Farnham Biodiversity Group, entitled:

Green Town Farnham?

This took place on Thursday 3 April at St Thomas on the Bourne Church.

The Farnham Neighbourhood Plan includes a policy on Biodiversity, requiring that any development should bring about a net increase in biodiversity. For example, if any trees were felled during the course of a development, then a greater number of new trees would be planted.

The Farnham Biodiversity Group spoke of how the Town Council and the various volunteer run wildlife and environmental groups work in pursuit of this policy.

St Thomas on the Bourne Old Churchyard

Noel Moss took us through the variety of wildlife, flora and fauna, in and around Farnham, and spoke of how it was related to the geography and geology of the area.

Libby Ralph talked about the effect of building development how it can impact upon wildlife, and what can be done to address the threats.
