Our first event for 2025 will be a talk by the Farnham Biodiversity Group, entitled:

Green Town Farnham?

Thursday 3 April at St Thomas on the Bourne Church   7:00 for 7:30

Society members £5                 non members £10

The Farnham Neighbourhood Plan includes a policy on Biodiversity, requiring that any development should bring about a net increase in biodiversity. For example, if any trees were felled during the course of a development, then a greater number of new trees would be planted.

The Farnham Biodiversity Group was formed to implement this policy, working with the Town Council and with the various wildlife and environmental groups run by volunteers.

Speakers from the Group will talk about how they have monitored and recorded biodiversity, to form a picture of what currently exists in and around Farnham. They will talk of the threats to biodiversity from developments, and how they have been address. Then they will look at what the future holds.
