WHAT I GAVE, I HAVE’

The title of the event is a quote taken from the inscription on the war memorial in Gostrey Meadow.

As we buy our poppies this month to support the annual poppy appeal most of us are unaware of the stories of the young Farnham men whose names are on our war memorial and those who also have Commonwealth War Graves in some of our Farnham cemeteries. Who were these young men? Where did they live, where did they serve and what happened to them?

This event, in conjunction with the Farnham First World War Group, will bring to life the stories of 5 local men we ‘remember’ in our various remembrance events but know little about.

Please join us in St Andrew’s Church for this social event. An entry donation of £7 per person (members), £10 for non members would be appreciated, enabling a donation to be made to this year’s poppy appeal. You can join as a member at the event.
