COFFEE MORNINGS The Farnham Society holds two coffee mornings each year in venues in and around Farnham that are not usually open to the public. These are only for members so are not advertised on this site. If you are a Society member, you will be sent a programme card with the spring newsletter, which lists all social events for the year, including coffee mornings. Venues we have visited in the past:
The Great Barn at Wanborough, built by the Cistercian monks of Waverley Abbey in 1388. There we saw displays covering local history and visited St Bartholomew’s church, rebuilt in the 13th century and restored in 1861
Frensham Mill, the home of Roger and Kate Holmes, with an illustrated talk about the Mill and the use of water power to generate electricity to the house. www.frensham.org
The intriguing Old Farm House in Elstead by kind invitation of Hilary and Richard Grey, who spoke on the history of the house and the surrounding area .
