A planning application, reference WA/2024/01557, was submitted in August 2024 for the construction of 162 dwellings on the Centrum site. The proposal is for six blocks of apartments, some of four storeys, some of six. Parking will be provided for 37 cars.

The current vehicle access to LIDL and to the Phyllis Tuckwell warehouse, from Dogflud Way, will be altered to give access to LIDL only. Vehicle access to the proposed residential development will be from East Street only. Pedestrian access will be provided both via East Street and Dogflud Way, so there will be pedestrian flow through the site.
